Chelsea enter the race to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Neves

Joao Neves also earned his maiden cap for the Portugal senior side earlier this month.

Chelsea are now pushing again for Benfica midfielder Joao Neves. They will face the task from Manchester United. The Red Devils are also linked with the young gun.

The Portugal international has featured heavily for Benfica in the Primeira Liga this season. He has made eight appearances and five of which have been starts.

Neves was a key part of his side’s 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The 19-year-old has appeared on 33 occasions for the club since making his debut last year.

According to TEAMtalk, the Blues are keen on the defensive midfielder. The player also earned his maiden cap for the Portugal senior side earlier this month.

The Benfica man signed fresh terms at the Portugues club this summer. He has committed his future to the club until the end of the 2027-28 season.
