Mauricio Pochettino sends honest message to Chelsea owners after another defeat

Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea has failed to score in the last three games.

Despite spending over £1bn on signings since Todd Boehly’s takeover, Chelsea remain put at 14th in the Premier League table.

The Blues continued their miserable start to the season by succumbing to a 1-0 defeat at home against Aston Villa.

Ollie Watkins scored the only goal in the 73rd minute of the game and Pochettino watched his side get beaten for the third time this season.

Despite the setbacks, Pochettino has urged the owners to stick with the long-term vision of the club.

He said: Give me time because I didn’t see them after the game. They are disappointed they are so excited to build some project but of course they feel disappointed. But at the same time they need to support the plan.’

He added: ‘I am just disappointed. I think we were the better team until the red card.

‘We need to change the situation, the only way I know we can change the situation is by working really hard.

‘We are confident in the way we perform. The only thing we are missing is scoring. If we keep working hard we will change.’
