Mauricio Pochettino says owners have shown support after Carabao Cup defeat.

The Argentine manager was ridiculed after Chelsea’s shambolic 1-0 loss against an inexperienced Liverpool side on Sunday night.

Chelsea are currently languishing 11th in the Premier League table and the squad has performed very poorly even after spending in the north of £1billion over the last three transfer windows.

There have been reports suggesting that Chelsea are considering options in case Pochettino gets the sack in the coming weeks or months.

But the under-pressure Blues boss has confirmed that he had positive conversations with the Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.

“I said hello to the owners when I saw them in the stadium and after [the final] I met Behdad and we were talking,” said Blues boss Pochettino.

“We were sharing our opinions about the game and the opportunity we missed to win a trophy because I think we played really well during the 90 minutes.

“We created the best chances, we were not clinical enough but that is what has happened since the beginning of the season.

“They [the owners] showed their support and after the game, Todd sent a nice message.”
