Pochettino shuffles squad after League Cup loss

Following an upsetting setback in the League Cup final, Mauricio Pochettino has made risky squad choices as Chelsea prepares to play Leeds United in another important FA Cup fixture.

With fatigue and disappointment still lingering following the tough 120 minutes against Liverpool, Pochettino has made big changes to bring back his depleted team.

Among the significant changes is the absence of £50 million signing Malo Gusto, who will be rested after a rigorous final in favor of teenager Alfie Gilchrist.

In defense, experienced veteran Thiago Silva continues to recover, allowing Trevoh Chalobah to make his mark alongside Levi Colwill, providing a balanced center-back pairing.

Ben Chilwell, who led the team admirably in the League Cup final, will continue to lead from the left wing.

In midfield, Pochettino’s lack of rotational options leads him to stick with Moises Caicedo, while Enzo Fernandez seeks redemption for his poor performance in the previous match.

Cole Palmer takes on the central role, hoping to make up for his lackluster showing, while Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson provide attacking pushed from the flanks.

However, Raheem Sterling has been dropped from the starting 11 as Pochettino prefers to play Christopher Nkunku through the the middle of the field

As Stamford Bridge braces for another intense cup clash, Pochettino’s tactical adjustments underscore his determination to reignite Chelsea’s winning momentum and exorcise the ghosts of their recent defeat.
