Mauricio Pochettino believes Chelsea squad is too big.

The Chelsea manager is ready to make some tough decisions in the transfer window to reduce the size of his squad.

The Blues currently have 29 players in their roster and have amassed over £250m with player departures in this window.

The squad has two senior midfielders so far, with Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher as the only options within the squad.

The likes of N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have left so Chelsea needs to add a few more midfielders.

Gallagher has attracted interest from West Ham and Tottenham but Pochettino believes Chelsea needs to address their midfield options soon.

He said: “At the moment, we are working to reinforce that area, and other areas also. I think the players that are here on the tour are in our plans, Chelsea’s plans. At the moment, nothing to say about the players we have here. We are working very hard to try to add more players in different areas and hope that is possible soon.

“It depends on the situation of different players. We need at least one more and we are working on that. It depends on what happens in the next few weeks. We will decide and take our decision.”
