Vitesse Arnhem midfielder Mitchell van Bergen has backed Mason Mount to play for Real Madrid and Barcelona in the future.

The 20-year-old has been a revelation at Chelsea this season, after breaking into the first team under Frank Lampard.

Mount spent last season with Derby and season before that with Vitesse Arnhem, where he partnered with Mitchell van Bergen. And the Vitesse midfielder believes that his former teammate has all that takes to play for one of the two Spanish giants.

“I look at Chelsea matches more often because of him,’ Van Bergen told NOS. ‘He got his chance there and took hold of it and he’s also knocking on the door of the English national team. That doesn’t surprise me.”

“Mason is going to reach the absolute top. In the Premier League he will be a complete player and I see him eventually ending up at FC Barcelona or Real Madrid. I think he will fit there.”
