Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has expressed his excitement in making his CL debut as manager.

When Lampard was asked about the victory at Molineux in terms of momentum and the game coming next, he said: “It’s certainly a good feeling to see the team play the way they did.

“We need more clean sheets, that’s something we continually need to work on.

“But, yeah – the Champions League. It is the top club competition in world football and I’m sure Mason and Tammy and Tomori are all excited for it.

“All the players should be, all players love the Champions League – and I’m looking forward to my debut as a manager.”

The former Chelsea manager was the captain on the night the only time the Blues lifted the Champions League. It was a historic night for the club and Lamps played a rather big part in it by captaining the side against a powerful team like Munich and also dispatching a brilliant penalty to get Chelsea on their way in a nervy shoot out.

He will now be hoping his players can repeat the heroics as he watches from the sidelines. Lampard has brought a new wave of excitement in Stamford Bridge as the Blues prepare to face Valencia.
