Juventus open discussions with Chelsea for Timo Werner

Juventus have now approached the Blues over a potential loan move for Timo Werner.

According to the Guardian, Juventus have opened discussions with Chelsea over a possible move for striker Timo Werner.

As per the report, the Serie A heavyweights are looking to snap up the former Bundesliga man on loan as Massimiliano Allegri continues to bolster his squad for a Serie A title charge.

Werner’s move to Chelsea has failed to live up to expectations, with the German international struggling to hit the heights reached during his time at RB Leipzig.

The 26-year-old attacker was signed for £47.5 million in 2020. Werner has managed 23 goals in 88 appearances for the Blues outfit.

He scored just four goals in 21 league outings last term as Thomas Tuchel’s side secured a third-placed finish in the Premier League table.

Reports also claim Juventus have now approached the Blues over a potential loan move for Timo Werner as Allegri looks to add more depth in attack.

Juventus have now identified Werner as a summer transfer target and a potential alternative should they fail to snap up Spanish international Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid. Werner has also been linked with a return to Leipzig.
