According to reports, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is ready to offload two big-money signings to make way for new players at the club. The Englishman appears to have completed his assessment of every player and is ready to axe Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater, who failed to impress him in pre-season.

The Blues are currently facing a transfer ban and yet Lampard has made the decision to let go of the two midfielders.

Danny Drinkwater joined for a £35m fee in 2017 after playing a crucial role in Leicester’s title-winning campaign. Brought in to recreate the same magic alongside former Leicester teammate N’Golo Kante, the Englishman failed to land adequate playing minutes. He made only 23 appearances in two years at the Stanford Bridge.

Tiemoue Bakayoko arrived as a £40m signing from Monaco as a replacement for Nemanja Matic, who left for Manchester United in 2017. However, the Frenchman was shipped off to AC Milan on loan for the entire 2018/19 season after failing to impress the club.

Everton are said to be keeping tabs on Bakayoko as they aim to replace Idrissa Gueye who has departed for Paris Saint Germain. Meanwhile, Drinkwater may have to take a pay-cut to seal a transfer which would guarantee him more playing time.
