FA are questioning why Reece James was not assessed sooner.
The Football Association are reportedly frustrated with Chelsea’s handling of Reece James’ knee injury.
The defender was forced off in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League. Although, he will not require surgery. James is expected to be out of action for eight weeks due to ligament damage.
James looks set to miss the World Cup, and according to The Mirror, FA are unhappy with Chelsea’s handling of the situation.
They are believed to be unimpressed that the 24-year-old did not fly back until Wednesday evening, while he reportedly returned on a budget airline without medical support despite having extra legroom.
FA are questioning why James was not assessed sooner, Chelsea are content with how they dealt with the injury.
James is still harbouring hopes of returning in time for the World Cup. He has one more month to recover as England will play their opening WC game on November 21.
