Erling Haaland Willing To Wait A Year For Chelsea Move

Erling Haaland is open to joining Chelsea but only after the 2021/22 season.

Reports surfaced earlier claiming Chelsea’s interest in the Borussia Dortmund forward.

Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola and his father, Ralfe-Ange Haaland even held meetings with Chelsea and several other European giants over a future move at the start of this year. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United are all in the running for him but it is bound to cost a ton.

Dortmund will not accept any fee lower than a record-breaking amount right now. Haaland is definitely worth it after showcasing his talents across two seasons at Signal Iduna Park. The Norwegian will be heading into the Euros to represent his country after winning Bundesliga’s Player of the Season for 2020/21.

His current deal with BVB is set to last until June 2024. Chelsea are finding it hard to match Dortmund’s asking price of £170m. The striker is confident that Dortmund’s valuation will lower over time and he will be allowed to join the Blues.

Such was the case for highly-rated English winger Jadon Sancho as well. Manchester United failed to sign him at Dortmund’s quoted price of £120m last summer. But now, with two years left on his contract, Dortmund are ready to let him go for around £80m.
