Chelsea star Eden Hazard has said that his going to Real Madrid depends on how hard Chelsea try to keep him at the club.
For a few months, Eden Hazard’s future at Chelsea is a hot gossip topic in the world of football. It all began when Hazard spoke about his desire to play at Real Madrid before the World Cup.
Following the World Cup, there were several reports that Hazard would join Real Madrid. However, he decided to join Chelsea.
Lately, Hazard has frequently that he is not sure if he wants to stay at Chelsea or move to Real Madrid.
His current contract with Chelsea expires in 2020. Hazard has said that if Chelsea fight to keep him, then he will stay at the club.
The Belgian said, “I’m going to stop [talking about Madrid]. Let me say this. If I play for Real Madrid, I will be very happy. If I never play for Real Madrid, it is because it is not allowed. And then I will be happy at Chelsea.”
Hazard has been terrific for Chelsea this season so far, scoring 8 goals in 10 matches across all competitions. Real Madrid have shown interest in Hazard for quite a while and they think he is the ideal replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Following Belgium’s Nations League win over Switzerland, Hazard gave the hint that he had to go to Spain in order to win the Ballon d’Or. When a reporter asked him if he needed to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona in order to win the Ballon d’Or, Hazard said, “That’s why I want to go, maybe.”
