Sky Sports pundit has come out savagely against Chelsea signing Jorginho and has asked Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to drop the midfielder for the rest of the season.
“He’s [Sarri] burying his head in the sand over Jorginho. I don’t care how much you paid for the guy, maybe he’s be better next year, when he can learn some things.
“All his balls are sideways. He slows it down, he stops it. I’d take him out completely and put Kante in, see if it makes a difference.
“I don’t care how much you paid, maybe you’ll be better off playing him next season. Sarri can’t see what’s in front of him.”
Jorginho was brought in by Sarri at the beginning of last season when the Italian coach came to Chelsea from Napoli. Jorginho had a transfer lined up for him at Manchester City but the arrival of Sarri swayed the balance and Jorginho came to the club for a hefty price.
Despite starting well, his influence has waned in Chelsea‘s final third and fans and pundits alike have called for his head. However, it should also be noted that Jorginho is there to help Chelsea play out of the back and not slot in final balls which very much remains the tasks of the wingers.
