Mason Mount could be key to Chelsea signing Declan Rice.

The West Ham United midfielder is in excellent form over the last two seasons and his rise to the top has been phenomenal. He has made his debut for England as well with the central holding midfielder only 21 years old now.

He currently plays for West Ham United but was a product of the Chelsea academy as a teenager. Growing up, he was friends with Mason Mount while playing football and off the pitch as well.

The two players have maintained a very close level of friendship and love playing for England together. When asked if they can be seen one day playing at the club level as well, Rice opened up his potential transfer possibility to Chelsea as well by admitting he wants to play with Mount again for the same club.

“Yeah I’d love to, I’d love to play with him at club level again,” Rice said.

“One thing we’ve always said as kids, we’d love to play with each other at club and international level.

“But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that.”

Chelsea could really use a young midfielder with such a bright future under Lampard!
