Chelsea are keeping a close eye on England’s first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Chelsea will let one of Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy leave Stamford Bridge, admits transfer insider Dean Jones.

There has been some talk about the North London club wanting to sign a new goalkeeper. Their first-choice goalkeeper is looking to find another club, and Jones thinks Kepa will now be concerned.

As per the reports of The Sun, Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Everton and England’s first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. He is playing in the FIFA World Cup and doing great for the Three Lions.

The same outlet adds that the Blues also have Brighton’s Robert Sanchez on their radar. A move for the 25-year-old would make sense given that Graham Potter has worked with him before.

But, it is reported that Brighton wants a huge fee for Sanchez, hence why Chelsea are also looking at Pickford.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I’m not sure he’s totally unhappy. I mean, they’re both really good goalkeepers and good options.

“I think what he is not sure of is which one is going to be the Chelsea No.1 and which one can convince him that they deserve the shirt, so I personally think that one of Kepa or Mendy will go. At the moment, it’s probably Kepa who will be most concerned.”

Kepa was in good form before picking up an injury prior to the beginning of the World Cup. Meanwhile, Mendy has just not looked convincing of late.

“It wasn’t that strong a shot by Memphis [Depay]. He almost pea-rolled it back to [Davy] Klaassen. He’s got to do better there,” Lianne Sanderson said on talkSPORT when discussing Mendy’s role in his country’s 2-0 defeat.

“I think both the goals were Edouard Mendy’s fault,” the former England star later went on to add.
