O’Rourke expects Chelsea to target a centre-forward in the next window.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has told GiveMeSport, Chelsea are likely to make a striker a key target in the summer.

The West London club did manage to strengthen their attack last month, but they did not bring in a new center-forward. Chelsea were extremely busy during the winter window, improving multiple areas of their squad.

They got Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in the squad. Enzo Fernandez was signed for big money to give the midfield a boost.

According to BBC Sport, Chelsea paid Benfica £107m to acquire the World Cup winner. They also added central defender Benoit Badiashile to their ranks after striking a deal with AS Monaco for the Frenchman.

O’Rourke expects Chelsea to target a centre-forward in the next window.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “I think a No.9 is a key target for Chelsea this summer.

“They’ve obviously spent big elsewhere around the squad to strengthen things, but they’ve lacked a real No.9 for a while. Kai Havertz is playing in there, but that’s probably not his best position.”

CBS reporter Ben Jacobs recently told GMS that Chelsea targeting Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic this summer is something to look out for.

Assessing the Serbia international’s goal record, he could be a great addition to their side.
