Ben Chilwell of Chelsea is a player whom Manchester City is interested in acquiring this summer

Ben Chilwell, a defender for Chelsea, is a target for Manchester City in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Premier League statement on Monday that accused the reigning champions of breaching several financial regulations over the previous 14 years cast a shadow over their future.

In spite of all the ambiguity, City hopes to add Chilwell to their roster in the summer. It makes sense that they are considering signing the Chelsea star after allowing Joao Cancelo to join Bayern Munich in January.

In the past year or two, Chilwell has experienced hard times while playing for Chelsea. He missed the second half of the previous season because of an ACL injury, and he missed the World Cup and the club’s following games because of a hamstring ailment.

Last week against Fulham, the England international made his comeback from injury. In the upcoming weeks, he would be aiming to establish a routine and avoid suffering any further ailments. We all know the 26-year-old has good qualities despite the ailments. When it comes to racing up and down the field on the left side and providing quality on both sides of the field, he is among the best.

Chilwell was reportedly a target for City in the past as well, but Chelsea pounced and acquired him from Leicester City in the summer of 2020. Should the Blues consider a summer sale for the Englishman? No. Not only is he a very talented player, but Marc Cucurella, who was brought in to replace him last summer, hasn’t performed well enough thus far.
