Bayern Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller has admitted that Havertz can leave the club this summer.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Voller said: “We have an agreement – if it fits, he can go this summer. As of now, he is a player of ours. We have our ideas, we know what he can do.
“I personally hope he stays one more year. Of course, you can’t force anyone. Havertz knows what he owes to his colleagues, the fans, and the club.”
Havertz, the 21-year-old has been in impressive form in the Bundesliga this season scoring 12 and assisting 9 goals. He has the versatility to play as a winger, a second striker, or a playmaker.
The German player is being scouted by Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
It is believed that Real are not serious, Liverpool does not have the funds while United are keen on Sancho. This made Chelsea the primary contenders but Bayer was strict on keeping Havertz.
Their stand seems to have softened now and Chelsea will see this as an encouragement to go after Havertz.
Lampard’s side has already captured the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech and adding Havertz will make it a devastatingly fast and dangerous side to deal with.
