Chelsea reach decision on transfer ban

Chelsea were slapped with a transfer ban for two windows by FIFA earlier this year.

FIFA found the Blues guilty of signing underage players illegaly, something the Chelsea hierarchy have denied so far. However, FIFA who had earlier banned Real Madrid and Barcelona on related reasons this time took a different stance.

FIFA had overturned the ban for the two Spanish sides and many thought it would be just the same this time for Chelsea. However, FIFA with their new found sense of justice decided to make an example of the Blues and upheld the ban despite their appeal.

However, things in football can be taken to the ultimate house of justice, the Court of Arbitration for Sports or CAS in short. Chelsea reportedly appealed to CAS to get their ban frozen or overturned.

However, the Blues will reportedly now settle for at least one window of the ban. News reports are confirming that the CAS will be dealing with 18 cases this summer with Chelsea’s number set to not come before 14 August, by when the transfer window England will be shut.

Chelsea it seems have accepted their fate and will not be signing any players for this summer at least.
