Chelsea have been a top club in 2021 since the entry of Thomas Tuchel as a new manager.
Chelsea have been named the 2021 club of the year at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in France.
France football introduced a new award this year and it’s not really clear what one has to do to win it other than win the Champions League.

Blues surprised everyone by winning the Champions League trophy this year by beating Man City in the final. They also won the UEFA Super Cup by beating Villarreal in the final.
Club’s 5 nominees were stuck at Stamford Bridge to receive their individual awards.
By the way, the Blues have been a standout performer in 2021 since the entry of Thomas Tuchel as a new manager. Their Champions League trophy was not a fluke as they maintained their top game in Premier League as well.
Tuchel’s side stands top of the Premier League table and they are strong favourites to win Premier League 2021-22. They are also going strong to defend their UEFA title.
