Chelsea manager offers update on players availability for the Aston Villa game (CFC)

The Villa game is important for Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

Chelsea manager Graham Potter talked about the injured players and the availability of players for the Aston Villa game.

Mason Mount is back, while Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling will miss the away trip to Aston Villa.

Mount missed a few games before the international due to a lower abdomen issue. He pulled out from the England squad due to that as well.

Fofana had to withdraw from the French squad in the international break. He could be fine for the Liverpool game on Tuesday, but the Villa game comes too soon for him.

The same is the case with Raheem Sterling. Christian Pulisic came back from his international duty with a cold. He will be checked on before the game.

Here’s what Potter said (h/t Football.London):

“Well, Thiago and Azpi are still away. Raheem is coming back. He will miss the game, think he’s got more chance for Tuesday. He was close. Mason has trained and is available, probably not from the start but in the squad. Wesley is going to miss the game because his hamstring is still a little bit tight, there’s a chance for Tuesday with him. Christian Pulisic is the only one, he had a heavy cold returning from international duty so he’s one we’ve just got to check on.”

The Villa game is important for Graham Potter. Unai Emery’s men are level on points with Chelsea. So, a win for them would push us into the latter half of the standings.
