Chelsea making contact with Sporting Lisbon over double swoop in January window

Chelsea will offload academy product Trevoh Chalobah to fund the signings of Diomande and Gyokeres.

Chelsea have enquired to Sporting Lisbon about the possible signings of Ousmane Diomande and Viktor Gyokeres during the winter transfer window. The Blues are keen to make a double swoop in this window.

Ousmane is a key player for the Portuguese club since making the move from FC Midtjylland in the winter. He has appeared 14 times in Primeira Liga matches this season.

On the other hand, Gyokeres made a move from Championship club Coventry City to Sporting in the summer. Sweden international has netted 10 goals in 13 league appearances. The Blues are putting in the region of £20m for the 25-year-old attacker.

As per the reports of The Standard, the Sky Blues have made contact with Sporting Lisbon over the potential signings of the duo in the New Year. Chelsea will offload academy product Trevoh Chalobah to fund the signings of Diomande and Gyokeres.

The report adds that Chelsea have acquired a new centre-back a priority in January. They are already missing Wesley Fofana who is sidelined due to a knee injury. Thiago Silva’s contract will expire in the summer.
