Blackburn Rovers demands around £25m for Adam Wharton.
Chelsea are in the search for the midfielder and they are eyeing a potential move for Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton. His future is pretty uncertain but he is on the radar of top European clubs before the deadline day of this transfer window.
The 19-year-old is linked with Tottenham Hotspur as well. Crystal Palace are also in the race to sign the teenager. As per the reports of The Sun, the Blues are the front-runners.
Chelsea sporting director Paul Winstanley watched the midfielder in action last week. The report adds that Wharton’s performance against Chelsea in the EFL Cup marked attention.
Pochettino wants to buy the young talent before the end of this transfer window. They will allow him to remain on loan at Blackburn for the rest of the season.
Blackburn Rovers demands at least for around £25m for the midfielder. Palace are believed to have had an £18.5m bid which was rejected.
The Championship club offered him an extension in December and his contract will expire in June 2028. He has made 29 appearances this season across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the process.
Rovers head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson said last week, “You know what I think about Adam. He was a boy when I came here and I saw his talent immediately, it’s nice to see his development each season,” Tomasson told reporters.
