Chelsea have no intention of risking Christopher Nkunku against Man City

Plan is for Nkunku to be assessed ahead of the Newcastle game on November 25.

Man City have no plans of risking Christopher Nkunku against Manchester City on Sunday. Chelsea will take on Pep Guardiola’s side in pursuit of breaking the fortress of City.

The West London club made a stunning move for the talented striker. He signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge. Nkunku made an impact in pre-season.

The Frenchman could have been a game-changer for Chelsea in the first two months but he suffered a knee injury against Borussia Dortmund. It ruled him out for approximately four months.

The Blues showed some good intent in last few weeks. They have won four games from their last six games across all competitions. They beat unbeaten Tottenham 4-1 last week to gain three points.

Pochettino is now saying that though, the 25-year-old is doing “really really well” and that the hope is “he can be involved as soon as possible”.

As per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Nkunku will not be considered for his debut against Man City in Sunday’s league fixture.

Chelsea will then make their trip to Newcastle United on November 25, and Romano reports that the plan is for Nkunku to be assessed ahead of the visit to St James’ Park.
