Chelsea considering January move for Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale

Chelsea eyes January move for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale amid goalkeeping woes

Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in January, following an injury setback for their own shot-stopper, Robert Sanchez.

Ramsdale, who has lost his starting spot at Arsenal this season, may be looking for a mid-season exit in order to capture the attention of England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2024.

Following the purchase of David Raya, the 25-year-old goalkeeper has been relegated to the bench. Ramsdale is expected to leave the Emirates Stadium in 2024, but an earlier move to Stamford Bridge has recently emerged.

Chelsea is reportedly improving its interest in Ramsdale during the upcoming January transfer window, with Robert Sanchez suffering a knee injury. Dorde Petrovic, a 24-year-old Serbian international, is projected to take up goalkeeping responsibilities for Chelsea until January.

If Ramsdale joins Chelsea, he will become only the third senior player in Premier League history to transfer directly from Arsenal, behind Ashley Cole and Olivier Giroud.

While Chelsea has a history of sending players to Arsenal, this probable transfer adds a new chapter to the cross-London saga, infusing a new twist into the January transfer window narrative.

The football world is waiting for more information as Chelsea considers adding Aaron Ramsdale to their goalkeeping options.
