Chelsea and the Declan Rice situation update

Chelsea are confident that Declan Rice would choose them if he decides to leave West Ham this summer

The Blues are just one of the Premier League clubs connected with the midfielder. Chelsea are interested in Rice, and West Ham are anticipating bids for their vice-captain in the summer.

However, the Blues are expected to have competition for his signing, with the same publication reporting that both Manchester teams are interested in the midfielder.

According to reports, a move for Rice by Chelsea is not guaranteed since the club has to create room for Conor Gallagher after his successful loan stay with Crystal Palace.

The European champions are hardly light in the midfield. They already have N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, and Gallagher on the way back.

Should Chelsea decide to make a bid for Rice in the end, the Blues feel they will win the race for his signature, according to Jones.

Rice appears to have a lot of competition, and the England international is said to be valued at approximately £100 million by West Ham, so Chelsea getting him does not appear to be a sure thing.

In the event that they do not, AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni looks to be the Blues’ backup plan.
