Tammy Abraham offered in exchange for Lukaku

AS Roma is apparently planning an imposing transfer bid to sign Romelu Lukaku, who is presently on loan from Chelsea, on a permanent basis.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, the Serie A club might provide Tammy Abraham as part of a potential swap deal to secure Lukaku’s long-term contract.

Lukaku has been an revelation since joining Roma, with an amazing 18 goals in all competitions this season. His outstanding achievements, particularly in Europe, caught the interest of Roma’s hierarchy, who are keen to sign him permanently. However, the stumbling point appears to be the substantial transfer fee required by Chelsea.

In order to bridge this difference, Roma is thinking about using Tammy Abraham as a bargaining chip. Abraham, who has had a tough season halted by injuries, might return to Stamford Bridge as part of the deal.

Although prior rumours indicating a buy-back clause in Chelsea’s favour, the rumoured £69 million fee appears to be a disincentive for the club.

For Chelsea, who have been linked with a summer striker signing, securing Abraham’s return may be a plausible alternative. While Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres have been suggested as potential targets, Abraham’s familiarity with the club may make him an appealing option.

As negotiations unfold between the two clubs, the footballing world eagerly awaits to see if this proposed swap deal materializes and how it could potentially reshape the landscape of both teams ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
