Chelsea has been eyeing Ben Chilwell for a while. However, Leicester City coach Brendan Rodgers is not letting him go that easy.
Brendan Rodgers warns Chelsea that there will no player at all leaving Leicester in the upcoming January transfer window. Chilwell was a good option for Lampard, as Chelsea are able to spend in January following the lift of their transfer ban.
This might be a little sad for some Chelsea fans, as many were hoping for his transfer.
Benjamin Chilwell defends for Premier League club Leicester City. Chelsea are looking to make their left-back stronger and Chilwel fit the bill as one of the best in the Premier League. But Rodgers won’t make life that easy for Chelsea.
“If you’re doing well, there will always be speculation,” he said in his pre-match press conference, when asked about whether Leicester City would be offering anything this January, in terms of transfers.
‘There’ll be no-one leaving in January. Categorically,’ said Rodgers.
‘I’m sure if we speak, they will have the same message.
‘I speak regularly with Jon [Rudkin] and Top [Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha]. It’s very clear we want to keep this squad together.
‘We want to ensure they stay around beyond January.’
