Chelsea legend Eden Hazard doesn’t view return to Blues as an ‘option’ in January

According to Marca, Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard doesn’t view a return to Stamford Bridge this month as an ‘option’, despite rejecting a recent proposal from Newcastle United.

Despite claims in Spain that a deal had been ‘approved,’ the Belgian is said to have rejected a proposition from newly-rich Newcastle United. This season, the Magpies have been taken over by mega-rich Saudi owners who are looking to buy players who they feel can help them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Hazard has struggled at Real Madrid since joining from Chelsea in 2019. This season, he has been relegated to the bench by manager Carlo Ancelotti due to a string of injuries and a loss of form. Despite this, the winger has opted to play until the conclusion of the season and see if his fortunes improve.

Los Blancos are willing to listen to bids for Hazard in the area of £23 million, with the Spanish club anxious to limit their losses on the Belgium international. ‘With his future at the Santiago Bernabeu uncertain, the attacker looks to be taking a wait-and-see strategy until the conclusion of the season.

Despite being linked with a return to Stamford Bridge on a regular basis, the Blues do not appear to be interested. Hazard’s hefty salary have not only impeded his prospects of leaving Real Madrid, but have also reduced the number of clubs willing to pay him.

Hazard arrived to Real Madrid at the peak of his powers in 2019, yet he failed to turn it on at the Santiago Bernabeu.
