Trevor Chalobah speaks about his plans for the season

Trevor Chalobah will wait for his chance under new manager Graham Potter.

The Chelsea defender has made only one appearance for the squad this season as former manager Thomas Tuchel preferred Koulibaly, Silva and Azpilicueta over him.

The arrival of Wesley Fofana this summer pushed him further down the pecking order that will make it hard for him to gain more minutes.

But with Graham Potter as the new coach, Chalobah will again be allowed to prove himself although he would be patient with his chances.

He told talkSPORT: “I feel that when the opportunity has to come, it will come.

“I will always be patient because playing for a club like this is not easy, there will always be competition. This is the best thing for everyone. The players and for me, training with the best players day after day.

“I try not to focus on external voices and focus on what I am doing and what I want to do this season. This means joining in with the team and playing a lot of games this season.”
