Todd Boehly faces 'big decision' on N’Golo Kante at Chelsea

Kante’s current deal will expire next year.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante will not be short of takers if he decides to leave Stamford Bridge next summer.

The Frenchman looks set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season unless they offer him a new long-term contract. As per the journalist, co-owner Todd Boehly will make a huge decision on Kante.

Kante’s current deal will expire next year. It means he will be able to join another club on a free transfer ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

According to The Athletic, the West London club verbally offered to renew his deal for two years in August. It is believed that the option of another 12 months was also included in the proposal.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, O’Rourke said: “Chelsea, like a lot of the big clubs, aren’t that keen on giving players over the age of 30 long-term contracts, so there’s a big decision to be made by Chelsea in regards to Kante’s contract.

“And if he does turn it down and seeks a move away, I’m sure there’ll be no shortage of takers for the Frenchman.”
