Kepa Arrizabalaga has been on a poor run of form for quite some time at Chelsea.
The Spaniard signed for the Blues back in the summer of 2018 after the departure of Thibaut Courtois. However, the world-record signing for a custodian has not gone well for Chelsea and now the Blues are contemplating on bringing in a replacement. What are the choices they have?
Let’s have a look.
Andre Onana: The Ajax goalkeeper is good with his feet and reflexes. He made it clear that he wants a move this summer and Chelsea might be the destination for the talented 24-year-old. His former teammate Hakim Ziyech has already joined the Blues.
Gianluigi Donnarumma: The AC Milan goalkeeper is extremely young but has already been in the circuit for 4 seasons now. He is still considered to have immense potential and is a regular in Serie A. His height, agility, and handling skills are excellent.
Marc Andre Ter-Stegen: The Barcelona keeper is perhaps one of the best in the world and is having a contract dispute with the Catalans who need money to fund a transfer for Neymar. Selling Ter-Stegen could get them that money and Chelsea will have gotten the best modern-day goalkeeper in the circuit right now.
Manuel Neuer: A highly unlikely scenario yet cannot be ruled out. The German star is now past his prime and is at a standstill with Bayern over a new contract. Chelsea could bring him in for a stop-gap solution for a couple of seasons if Bayern cannot resolve their issues with him.
Jan Oblak: Yet another world-class option but Atletico might be stretched financially allowing Chelsea to do some business here. Simeone needs to sort out his attack and if they cannot land a free agent, he will need to invest money in the front line and it could come from selling his biggest asset in Oblak. Chelsea will be waiting in the wings for this one.
