Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs.
Thomas Tuchel clearly does not rate the English forward, benching him for majority of the games he has been in charge of.
Abraham dropped down the pecking order last season itself when his form dipped under Frank Lampard. But this season, he has answered back with 12 goals and 6 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. He is still their leading goalscorer this campaign, maximising his opportunities to the fullest.
Unless, he is given assurances over his future, Abraham is likely to opt-out of the club this summer. Wolves, Aston Villa, Leicester City and West Ham United are interested in his services. After this season, he will only have two more years left on his contract. Chelsea’s ability to negotiate will diminish as time goes by.
Wolves are said to be the favourites but they already have an established attacking unit. Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy is currenty ageing and is need of a successor. West Ham United don’t have an established number nine with Michail Antonio playing a makeshift role.
Aston Villa already have Ollie Watkins, an emerging English forward and a backup in Keinan Davis. Abraham is likely to offered better opportunities wherever he lands up at. The question is will Chelsea want to keep him.
