Christian Pulisic has vowed to Chelsea fans to win them over after a poor start to his Stamford Bridge career.
“If you can play, you can play and that’s why Dortmund was amazing for me, the coach always trusted me,” he told the Players Tribune.
“But you’ve got to prove yourself maybe that extra mile,” he said.
“I have to prove myself no matter what age I am. I don’t feel like I’m some wonder boy anymore, I’ve been around and I think I’ve earned that respect at least and I’m in a new chapter and I’m going to prove myself.”
The young American came to Europe to play for Dortmund as a teenager. He was very successful in his early days for the German club and did fantastically well.
This led to Chelsea paying a mammoth fee for him as he was signed by the Blues back in January earlier this year. However, since joining the club things have not gone very smoothly for the American.
Despite starting the initial few games under Frank Lampard, he has now fallen down the pecking order and in a anew country might find it tough to fight all the situations together.
