Olivier Giroud bids farewell to Chelsea ahead of AC Milan move

Olivier Giroud will join AC Milan on a two-year deal.

The French striker has confirmed his departure from Stamford Bridge on his Twitter wall.

He will be signing a two-year contract with Italian giants AC Milan even after extending his contract with Chelsea by 12 months.

In his time at Stamford Bridge, the 34-year old has scored 39 goals in 119 appearances winning three major trophies with the club.

He joined Chelsea from Arsenal for £18m in January 2018 but the club will announce his departure by this week.

“To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments,” he wrote on Twitter.

“I’m starting a new journey with a light and happy heart. Our victories in Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions League have been magnificent.

“Love Oli G.”
