Kalidou Koulibaly is set to join Chelsea as early as this week.
The Blues are about to secure their second signing of the summer with Chelsea agreeing a €40million deal for the Senegalese defender.
Chelsea have lost both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen for free in this summer window and are desperately looking for replacements as soon as possible.
Players such as Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde have also been linked with a transfer this summer.
Koulibaly is definitely the most experienced player of the lot and the 31-year-old defender has been consistently linked with a Premier League move in the past few seasons.
Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has further given blessing to Koulibaly as he is set to join Chelsea.
‘I prefer Koulibaly to be with us always, especially as he would be captain this season,’ Spalletti said.
‘If he chooses to leave, we will never stop thanking him for all the help he has given us. If he wants to choose something else, we wish him all the best, because he deserves it.
‘And woe betide anyone who says otherwise to him.’
