Bayern Munich considered a move for Chelsea outcast Mykhailo Mudryk.

The German giants considered a move for struggling Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk in the January transfer window.

The Ukrainian winger made his £89 million move to Stamford Bridge last January on an eight-and-a-half-year contract.

It has not been an easy start for the young forward in the Premier League as he struggles to find the back of the net and earn regular minutes.

Mudryk has scored just four goals in 41 appearances and struggling to convince Pochettino that he deserves a place in the starting XI.

Bayern Munich considered a late swoop for the 23-year-old winger following Kingsley Coman’s serious knee injury.

But the Bavarians instead made a move for Bryan Zaragoza from Granada as the deal was seen as an easier transfer to engineer.

Pochettino said: ‘I think he’s a young guy that arrived here one year ago. We know the circumstances around [the transfer]. Of course, he needs to improve. He has amazing quality and potential, but it’s a [team] game, it’s not tennis.

‘We have players that need to perform in a group. If you see him, it’s amazing, but after, you need to adapt and play for the team – he needs to adapt, and all of that needs time.’

The 23-year-old has thus far been one of the most disappointing signings in recent Premier League history.
