Mykhailo Mudryk backed to come good at Chelsea

Mykhailo Mudryk has struggled at Chelsea since his big-money move in January.

Chelsea landed the Ukrainian winger for £89 million in January from Shakhtar Donetsk on an eight-and-a-half-year contract.

But since then, he has struggled to live up to his price tag and is yet to score for the Blues in 17 games.

But Andriy Shevchenko believes the 22-year-old will come good at Chelsea in the long-term and would not be another big-money flop at Stamford Bridge.

‘Mudryk is very young but I think he is quite confident,’ the Ukrainian legend told SPORTbible.

‘I’ve seen some of his interviews and he knows his quality. Chelsea signed him for eight years, it’s a long-term contract and they believe in the quality of the player.

‘For me he is quality, he is sharp, he’s strong, he’s fast and you just have to adapt better for Premier League football.

‘The best advice is to just believe in yourself. I think he has this quality. He knows he’s a good player. My best advice is just keep working hard and see what you can achieve.’
