Manchester United Happy To Listen To Chelsea Offer For Sergio Romero

It looks like Manchester United are open to selling their goalkeeper, Sergio Romero to Chelsea after all.

Frank Lampard is desperately looking to add more quality to his goalkeeper lineup and have a few names shortlisted.

Romero seems to have made it into the list even though he has featured only as a backup to David De Gea. Chelsea’s top priority this summer is Rennes goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy. If a move for the 28-year-old fails, there is a high possibility that Lampard will look to signing Romero.

Even as a backup at Manchester United, Romero has managed to remain Argentina’s number one. However, his chances of losing that spot has heightened after Dean Henderson signed a new deal with United. After impressing on loan at Sheffield United, it will be the Englishman and De Gea duking it out for the number one spot, not Romero.

At 33, Romero could be fit to take over the starting birth at Stamford Bridge. United would not oppose making a bit of cash from their rivals as well. After all, Ole Solskjaer still has a number of incomings planned and raising any amount of transfer sum could be important, even though not a priority.
