22-year old Brazilian winger Kenedy dreams of winning the Premier League with Chelsea someday. Kenedy is currently at Newcastle on loan from Chelsea.
He joined Chelsea in 2015 from Brazilian club Fluminense. He made 20 appearances for the club in his first season but soon fell down the pecking order. He spent most of the last two seasons at other clubs on loan.
Last season, he made only 5 appearances for Chelsea before being loaned to Newcastle. This season, he is once again at Newcastle at loan with the club having a buy-back option.
However, the 22-year old still hopes of winning the Premier League with Chelsea.
Kenedy said, “It’s not that I didn’t make it at Chelsea. I arrived there at age 19, very young. It was good to be loaned to have more playing time. Better than staying at Chelsea and not playing. I hope this year to have a good season with Newcastle and go back to Chelsea to continue [my career]. I dream of going back and being a champion for the club.
Being in the Premier League alone is already a great achievement. There are a lot of people who come here and aren’t able to play. For me, it’s been great [but] my dream is to win a title while playing [on the pitch, instead of being just an onlooker].”
This season, Kenedy has started four of Newcastle United’s five matches. He could not play the match against Chelsea because Premier League regulations prevented him from playing against his parent club.
Newcastle United are currently 18th in the Premier League table. They take on Arsenal on Saturday.
