Timo Werner takes a dig at Tuchel amid future uncertainty

Thomas Tuchel’s tactics do not suit Timo Werner.

The German arrived at Stamford Bridge in the 2020 summer window but has failed to live up to the expectations since his big move.

He has scored only 19 goals in 80 of his last games for the Blues.

His inconsistent form has led to rumours of him leaving Chelsea this summer with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund emerging as the potential destination.

After Germany’s friendly win over Israel, Werner explains how he enjoys playing for the international team rather than Chelsea.

Werner said: “I’m a striker and always want to score. Things aren’t going the way I’d like at Chelsea, so it’s all the better that things are going well here under Hansi Flick.

“I really enjoy playing football, no matter where I’m playing. There are differences in the style of play between football at Chelsea and here.

“Maybe the one at the national team suits me better. Here, I always have scoring chances, I can score goals. I feel very comfortable here.”
