After securing Ziyech, the Blues continue to look for further July reinforcements.

The next in line could be the Uruguay international.

Chelsea will reportedly sign Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino for €25 million this summer. The 28-year-old, who was linked with both Everton and Manchester United during the January transfer window, has made 20 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side this season.

A recent report claimed that the Blues were interested in a deal for the Uruguay international, who could be available for €25m during this summer’s transfer window. However, according to The Express, Frank Lampard’s side have been informed about the asking price, and the capital giants are prepared to meet Inter Milan’s valuation to complete a deal.

Vecino has allegedly been told that he does not feature in the plans of Conte in Italy. Chelsea boss could do with more experience in his squad, with this youthful side proving inconsistent in this challenging first season in charge for the former Derby County man.

Lampard will now hope someone like Vecino can add a bit more know-how to his Chelsea squad next season, with the Uruguay international having had a long and successful career in Serie A with both the Nerazzurri and Fiorentina, as well as loan spells at Cagliari and Empoli.
