According to the latest reports, Inter Milan are very eager to sign N’Golo Kante.
Inter boss, Antonio Conte wants to reunite with the Frenchman at the San Siro.
He wants Kante back in his squad and carrying out defensive responsibilities through his central lines. Both of them connected quite well at Chelsea to win the Premier League title in their debut campaigns.
Of course, Kante has not been at his best since then. Most of it could be tied to injuries and the change in management. Even Frank Lampard has not been able to play him in his most favoured position which is in the midfield pivot that often.
Lampard still views Kante as an important part of his team as he said, “I have made big steps to try and manage his training and games, and making sure we attempt to keep him as fit and ready for games as we can.
“He’s shown in the last couple of games he’s played he is N’Golo Kante. His attributes are incredible, he can play various positions in midfield, he has energy, the ability to win the ball back but also his ability on the ball. That is sometimes underrated.
“People always want to talk about him being the defensive midfielder and he should be in a deeper role. But he can do lots of different roles with massive effect. I’m pleased he is fit now and we will keep managing that.”
Kante seem to be back to his best now, starting all eight Premier League games so far. Conte wanted to sign him last summer but could not convince Chelsea into selling. Chances are he would return for the Frenchman, the first opportunity he gets.
