Olivier Giroud Ready To Leave For Inter In January

Olivier Giroud wants out of Chelsea and he will likely make a push for Inter Milan in January.

According to the latest reports, the Italian outfits are plotting a move for Giroud as well, seeing how his contract is about to run out.

Giroud’s situation won’t improve immediately at the San Siro. Antonio Conte has plenty of striking options currently and will only recruit Giroud as a sporadic option. The Frenchman is after all 34 now and entering the twilight of his career.

What his main motivation will be to make it into France’s 23-man squad for the European Championship next summer. He needs to be playing regularly to play out one final international tournament before hanging up his boots.

Currently, Frank Lampard has completely ignored his talents. Giroud has not made a single appearance since the season began. Timo Werner’s arrival has cut him out of the starting lineup, with even Tammy Abraham ahead of him in the pecking order.

With games coming in thick and fast during the winter period, the Frenchman could get a look in. Chelsea are still alive in all four competitions and will need experience off the bench. Could that change Giroud’s mind into staying? Unlikely.
