Carlo Ancelotti confirms that former Chelsea star Eden Hazard will stay at Real Madrid

Despite doubts regarding his future, Carlo Ancelotti has guaranteed that Eden Hazard will remain at Real Madrid next season. This would imply that a return to Chelsea is unlikely.

The Belgium international has struggled since joining Los Blancos for an estimated £100 million from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. Injuries have hindered the 31-year-career, old’s which has seen him make only 65 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions over the last three years.

His misfortune in Spain has fueled curiosity over his future, with rumours tying him to a return to the Premier League. Chelsea was also interested in signing him and intended to approach him during the January transfer window. He opted to reject because his wife was pregnant.

Fans would like to see the former Blues hero return. Like Didier Drogba’s comeback in 2014, That looks to be fantastical at best.

His recent form and injury concerns must be taken into account if he is to be signed, which is becoming more difficult. Given the team’s current competitiveness, we simply cannot guarantee him consistent playing time. Madrid will not trade him cheaply, and reuniting may not be the greatest option for Chelsea.
