Former England boss Fabio Capello has backed Frank Lampard to manage England one day.

Lampard was one of the key players during Capello’s reign as England boss and now the former master has backed his prodigee to take the baton forward.

Asked if he thought Lampard was suited to the role, Capello told Sky Sports: ”I don’t know. Probably … because he can do it. He understands everything and has started without fear and put young players on the pitch.”

“I follow him. I watch all the games and I was upset when he started the season and he lost two games and the team didn’t play well.

“Now, the results are good and the position is really good and without the [transfer] market.”

Lampard got into management as recently as last year and has already made a big impact on most people.

His stint with Derby County last season was brilliant as he took an overaged Derby team to the knockouts for the playoffs and then this season he took charge of a crippled Chelsea team and are currently making them fly.

Chelsea despite having a transfer ban, have put forth their youngsters and are third on the Premier League table!
