Pulisic is looking forward to a good time in the Premier League

Chelsea splashed £57.6 million on Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic to make the 20-year-old American their third most expensive signing of all time.

The Blues officially announced the signing of Pulisic on January 2 on their website, with the 20-year-old set to spend the remainder of the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Pulisic has not contacted Blues boss Maurizio Sarri yet but he is looking forward to a successful spell in the Premier League.

‘For them to do this and to want me this much I think yeah they must like me, at least a little bit,’ Pulisic told ESPN.

‘I’d imagine when you first go in you have to go in and you earn the respect of the guys. ‘I’m sure they’re all great guys off the field, just like this team [Dortmund] is and you got to go in and on the field, you have to earn your spot.

Pulisic is well aware of the fact that his huge price tag doesn’t automatically guarantee him a first-team place, with Willian, Eden Hazard and Pedro all in the mix. However, the 20-year-old is ready to do his best to nail down a first team spot next season.

‘Every training, every game, any time I get the opportunity, just like here I have to take it and I have to prove to them that I’m worthy of being on the field and playing with that team.’

‘Once I get there then I’ll just be fighting every single day and I’ll be ready for it.’
