Reece James and Wesley Fofana, who are both injured, have return dates set by Chelsea.

Reece James and Wesley Fofana, who are both injured, are expected to be available for selection when Chelsea’s next competitive match is against Bournemouth on December 27.

On October 11, James suffered a knee injury while playing AC Milan at San Siro. This caused him to miss the World Cup because his recuperation required a lot of time. According to reports, he has resumed training this week as the Blues begin their second half of the season preparations with a midseason training camp in Abu Dhabi.

On the other side, Fofana sustained his injury against Milan a week before to James. The Frenchman subsequently missed the World Cup because of this injury, despite having his wish to move from Leicester City to Chelsea in the summer to compete for a spot in the French World Cup squad come true.

The 21-year-injuries old’s was judged to be more serious than James’. He would probably be healthy before the Bournemouth game, though.

The team struggled defensively in the final four games before the World Cup break, so these are encouraging developments for manager Graham Potter. In losses to Arsenal and Newcastle United, they appeared prone to giving up more than one goal after giving up four against Brighton & Hove Albion.
