Chelsea Pay Tribute To Legend Petr Cech

0

Chelsea have paid a heartfelt tribute to their former goalkeeper Petr Cech after the former Czech Republic international, who currently plies his trade for London rivals Arsenal, confirmed that he would call it a day at the end of this season.

The 36-year-old has been one of the best custodians to have ever graced Stamford Bridge and is currently in his 2oth season as a professional footballer. The player was signed by the Blues in 2004 and he went on to win almost every major accolade with them including four Premier Leagues, three FA Cups and one Champions League trophy.

Following Cech’s decision to retire at the end of the season, Chelsea posted a message on Twitter, depicting the current Arsenal shot-stopper as the “perfect role model”.

They also posted on their official website in reaction to Cech’s decision. It read, “Chelsea great Petr Cech has today announced he will be retiring at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on an incredible career in which he won every major trophy with the Blues including most famously the Champions League in 2012.”

It also read, “Cech, who won the Chelsea Player of the Year award in 2011, is our highest overseas appearance maker ever. His 494 games puts him sixth in the all-time list of Chelsea appearances, and his 228 clean sheets is also a club record.”

They concluded, “Enjoy your retirement, Petr, and thank you for everything.”

Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has said Hazard has turned down two contracts from Chelsea as he waits for an offer from Chelsea.

“He [Eden Hazard] is currently happy in London, his kids are happy in London, his wife is happy in London and if the dream move to Real Madrid doesn’t come off, he will stay at Chelsea and sign a contract for life.”

“I think he will push for that Real Madrid move, but it is up to Real Madrid right now.”

“He has rejected two contract offers so far and says that he doesn’t want to sign right now. That means he is waiting for something and that something means just one thing, Real Madrid.”

“Real Madrid are still interested as far as I know, but they are still yet to make their move. They don’t have a personal agreement with him at this point, they don’t have an agreement with Chelsea and they haven’t even made a phone call like last summer.”

“When they called last summer, Marina said he wasn’t for sale and Real Madrid respected that. But they might come back in again as they need to strengthen their squad after this season & it is easier to get players with just over a year left on a contract.”

It would seem that Chelsea are rather desperate to keep their talisman but the majority of the decision depends on Real Madrid’s desire to sign the player.

The Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will deal with this case on the occasion of its next meeting on 28 February 2019.”

Atletico welcomed to make permanent bid for Morata

Chelsea’s sad saga with Alvaro Morata has taken another turn for the worse now.

The striker joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 as the club’s record signing and was supposed to lead the line. However, after a bright start which saw him score 6 goals in 6 games. Morata got injured.

The injury led him down the rabbit hole and although the injury itself was never serious, the player’s mentality suffered and he was never able to make an impact at the club.

The player has now scored only 24 goals in 72 games and Chelsea it seems have run of out of patience with him over his horrendous attitude and poor form.

The player himself is not happy with life in England and has reportedly gone to Spain offering himself to any club that might want him. Sevilla and Barcelona were interested but neither agreed as no one wanted to buy him permanently after an initial loan move.

It now seems Atletico could be ready to offer him a place in their team and a permanent move discussion is on the cards with Chelsea holding out for as much a 40 million euors for the player.

Giroud the shock target for Barcelona

The domino effect last year which saw Batshuayi loaned to Dortmund followed by Dortmund selling Aubameyang to Arsenal finally led to the Gunners giving Chelsea Olivier Giroud.

Chelsea’s planned worked out well but Giroud has fallen short of what Sarri expects in his ideal number nine. Sadly, for the Italian boss, Giroud’s partner Alvaro Morata is not the best man to lead the line either.

For Chelsea, it was Morata’s failure that stinged more as he was brought in to be the primary forward. However, it would seem Morata is on his way out. After a failed move to Barcelona and Sevilla on loan, he could be on his way to Atletico Madrid.

Latest reports are now claiming that Giroud could be out of his way from Chelsea as well with Barcelona emerging as shock candidates to bring in the Frenchman. The Catalan outfit need a backup forward to take the pressure of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Giroud would serve ideally as the backup striker as he has done previously in other teams. Chelsea would also like to get something of value for the 32 year old as opposed to losing him on a free this summer.

Luiz set for Chelsea stay

Chelsea leader David Luiz has his contract running down this summer and in the midst of rumours that he might be set to leave, his agent has said otherwise.

“Contrary to some reports we are in a very amicable situation with Chelsea. We are trying to work out a deal for David Luiz because he wants to stay, the manager wants him to stay and so does the club. I’m sure something will be worked out.”

Luiz has become one of the leaders at the club in his second spell at Chelsea and has taken them to one league title under Conte. He is also a mainstay under Maurizio Sarri and the defender would like to stay at the club for a longer time.

However, the rule in the Chelsea boardroom does not allow the players north of 30 to get contract extensions longer than a year. The problem seemed to be seeping in from that fact as Luiz wants a lengthier run.

However, according to his agent, things seemed to have been cleaned out and he is set to stay at the club, who also want to keep him and offer him a contract that would work or both parties.

Chelsea agree personal terms with Argentine player

According to reports, Chelsea are on course to sign Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes from Zenit St. Petersburg. Paredes has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and close to signing a £27 million deal with Chelsea.

Paredes has become an integral player for Zenit since joining the club from Roma in 2017. He has made 61 appearances for the club so far, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists.

This season, Paredes has made 22 appearances for the Russian club, scoring 4 goals and providing as many assists.

With the departure of Cesc Fabregas to Monaco, Maurizio Sarri wants a replacement for the Spaniard. With Nicolo Barella not likely to leave Cagliari, Chelsea have set their eyes on Paredes.

Even though Zenit do not want to let go of Paredes, the Brazilian himself is eager to move to Chelsea.

Hence, there’s a good chance Chelsea can rope in the Brazilian.

Bayern Munich Eyeing Alvaro Morata

Bayern Munich have stepped their pursuit for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata as the German giants are keeping their tab on the struggling forward.

Morata’s day at the Stamford Bridge seems to be numbered as the Spanish international is no more the preferred option for Maurizio Sarri. The Blues manager has opted to field Eden Hazard as a false nine which has further ceased Morata’s path to the starting lineup.

The striker arrived from Real Madrid last season but hasn’t been able to underline his authority in the Premier League. He has managed only nine goals so far and it remains to be seen whether he stays at the club or not.

Bayern are planning a short term loan deal for the talented striker. The Bundesliga side badly needed a push in their quest of the German league title and they believe Morata could be the player who could guide them to glory this season.

Chelsea have demanded an outright £3m loan fee and Bayern are also required to pay his half wage which is in the tune of 70,000. A number of other clubs are also courting his signature so they need to make a quick move if they really want the deal to go through.

Maurizio Sarri backs Ethan Ampadu to Replace Cesc Fabregas

Maurizio Sarri backs Ethan Ampadu to Replace Cesc Fabregas

Maurizio Sarri has backed Ethan Ampadu to fill in the void of Cesc Fabregas in coming days.

Fabregas joined Monaco a few days ago and the Blues are expected to bring in replacements in this month. Leandro Paredes has been linked with the Blues and the West London giants could complete his signing very soon.

Ampadu is regarded as one of the hottest prospects to have emerged from the Blues academy in recent times and signed a long term contract to extend his association with the club last year.

Sarri hasn’t provided many chances to the teenager to prove his worth this season but the Italian certainly has some serious plans for the youngster in near future.

Sarri said, “I hope the same for [Ethan] Ampadu.

“Of course, playing as a central midfielder in our team is not easy.

We need to try and try and try in training, but I think that he is able to do it.

“In the future maybe he can step up, but we have to work.

“The player who plays in that position usually touches about 120, 130 balls [per game], so I think we need a specialist there.”

Chelsea Looking To Bring Back £40m-Rated Academy Product

According to the latest reports, Chelsea have set their sights on one of their former players, Nathan Ake.

The Blues shipped him off to AFC Bournemouth for £20m in June 2017 after a successful loan spell with the club. Maurizio Sarri is impressed with the Dutchman’s development and is looking to activate the £40m buy-back clause that was inserted into his deal.

Eddie Howe refused to comment on the matter after Bournemouth’s 2-0 defeat against Everton on Sunday evening but the Cherries boss could be in a difficult spot if Chelsea decides to take advantage of the situation.

Ake is one of the regular figures at Dean Court and is also the club’s second most expensive signing, followed up by Dominic Solanke’s recent arrival from Liverpool for £19m. He has featured in 23 games this season and has already scored 3 crucial goals for the Dorset-based outfit.

He originally started out in the youth academy of Chelsea but could never earn a spot in the first team. Like several players in the South London club’s payroll was loaned out to Reading, Watford and Bournemouth for further development.

Being the versatile player that he is, Ake started out as a defensive midfielder and then progressed from left-back all way to a centre-half. He has already been capped 10 times for the Netherlands national team and also has a contract with Bournemouth till the summer of 2022.

Chelsea are currently in an uneasy spot with David Luiz earning his way back into the first team under Sarri and subsequently running out of a contract with the club. The Blues are hesitant towards offering players over 30 more than a year worth of an agreement and the Brazilian defender is not too pleased with the club’s policy.
