Chelsea tables massive swap offer for Rice

Chelsea seems to have set their summer targets with a great degree of certainty and are going after the players they want with sure foot.

They have already signed Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax. The Blues are now looking to strengthen their backline and they have targeted one of their former academy stars in Declan Rice.

The England international grew up training with Chelsea but had to move away to West Ham in search of first team football. He has become a star with the Hammers and at the age of 21, he is being chased to return to his former club.

West Ham however, are certainly not ready to let go of Rice on the cheap and reports suggested that they declined Chelsea’s opening bid of £50m for the player.

The Blues have now returned with a massive swap deal by offering the Hammers Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi in exchange for Rice.

Batshuayi is on the fringes of the Chelsea first team and was chased by the Hammers earlier and Barkley is a player who had already worked with West Ham boss David Moyes earlier at Everton.

Reports are now stating that West Ham are unlikely to accept the deal and will be holding on to their £80m evaluation of the player.
